Wild Bunch holster question

I don't know why but I just noticed this thread! What a beautiful bunch of holsters!! I haven't shot wild bunch yet. However, the 1911 is my favorite pistola of all time.  For whatever it's worth this style carry for the 1911 has been used a great deal by modern day Texas Rangers and other plain clothed Texas Lawmen such as Sheriff's and others.  Course we don't carry em with the hammer down around these parts.

Howdy Wiley, that's a good looking carry holster for a mighty big gun. Looking at the front end of that thing pointed at you with that big ole 0 hole has probably soiled a few pairs of pants over the years!

Wiley, that makes for a fast get it out of the leather holster, is this what you carry now? I'm still looking at 1911's, with the ambi safety, being a lefty I have to have the safety on the right side. Good looking holster pard.

Well thanks JD and TW for the nice comments on the holster.  Yep, JD the 1911 will get their attention.  TW the 1911 in the picture is an old National Match Gold Cup of mine.  Truthfully, now that I am retired if I am going to carry I mostly carry something smaller.  Still love to shoot em though.

Heres a pic of the carved Al Stohlman version, and the one I made back in September with the loop. The looped one is made out of thinner leather than I like, but its also a design test. It needs some tweaking yet, especially around the trigger area. It is eerily similar to Outriders.

Both these holster look nice, what more are you planning to do on the second one, it looks pretty darn good the way it is. The first one does look a lot like the one Outrider did, but then that's the Wild Bunch look and holster. I think all the holsters that have been shown have been top notch, and I'd be proud to wear any of them, " If they were left handed "  LOL

                                 Thanks for the look see.

10W, the skirted holster is the one that needs tweaking. I need to lower the point at the rear, by the trigger. I like to get a full grip, or as near to a full grip before I draw, and this one is just about a finger width too long for that. Other than that, its just angle adjustments to change.
The carved one is one I did last year, and is my current WB holster.

So Dalton, when you're finished with your design, it will look some what like Marshal Wills wild bunch holster, or are you going to leave the top front as is and then just get a lower recurve around the trigger, that should get you or allow you a better grip for sure, post a picture when you get it all tweaked and finished, it sounds like it will be a dandy. ::) :o 8)

Well, yes and no. I have Marshall Wills pattern as well, and am currently making one off of it, which has a narrower profile than this one. It should be done sometime this weekend, if I can get time to work on it.
My pattern needs the welt portion of the trigger lowered, if that makes sense, and I might need to lower the portion to clear the rear sight as well. My 1911 is a 1943 GI issue, so it has the little sights that are easy to work around.

Nice work, Wiley, Dalton. there are some very nice holsters showing upon this thread. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with on your new one, Dalton. It should be a good one.
