Cockroach Kid, here is a site that's not that far from you. My family and I have been there and it is a neat place. They usually have a reenactment event once a year too that is neat. Here is the link to the place:

Thanks Lethal Larry. We've got in-laws in Tulsa so that might be a good place to visit on one of our trips up there.

BTW there's a link on that page to a site called Civil War Album.com (http://www.civilwaralbum.com/). It features "Modern Photos of America's Civil War Sites. It has a link to a list of sites by state (http://www.civilwaralbum.com/misc/index.htm). That might be a good resource for our original poster.

We made aroad trip a few years ago. Shot the pistol shoot at the James farm at Kearney, Mo.,
then went to Dodge City, not original but I'm interested in buffalo hunting and there was some
neat stuff. Next was Adobe Walls, make sure to take your Sharp's and old clothes to pose for
a picture of yourself aiming at Billy Dixon's famous shot. then we went to the Panhandle
Plains Historical museum in Canyon Tx, Palo Duro canyon is nearby. And last was the Nat.
cowboy museum ln Oklahoma City, surprised no one mentioned this, wonderful place, especially
the guns, they have two 16lb Sharps that came from Zimmermans hardware in Dodge City,
my wife had to drag me away from there, said she couldn't believe I could stare at one gun
case for 20 min.
