I still have one of those; I have not been able to find "O" rings for a long time.  I eventually made my own out of gasket material; it was barely acceptable.  Do you know of a source for the "O" rings?

Jrdudas,

If you check out some of the better hardware stores in the plumbing section they should have "O" rings of diifferent sizes.  Hope this helps.

I only shoot to support my reloading habit.

Check at http://www.bbairguns.com
there is a guy in Oregon that tunes up bb guns,i had him do two Buffalo Bill Scout bb rifles i have, shoot better than new.I think if you do a search on his name you will find something. His name is Hugh Bodey,he told me the way to oil a seal is to put a drop of oil on the top of the co2 cartridge and then pop it in.Also if you have one of those old Hahn 45 bb six shooters just tighten by hand and fire a couple times, that's what pierces the co2 not tightning with the threaded wheel.

Hugh used to do all the repair for Daisy.. ;)

As I remember, my Plainsman has three power settings; low, medium, and high.  On the high setting with a new CO2 cartridge it would send a BB through both sides of a steel soup can at about 15 feet.  That impressed me, since a BB is a round projectile.  Of course you use more CO2 when set at the higher powers.  I seem to remember that they also offered a rifled barrel insert that allowed you to shoot lead BB's for greater accuracy.  To me the weak point was the "O" rings; I'll have to check in some good hardware stores to see if I can find one that will work.

Tested mine today,if i took my time between shots it was pretty accurate,if i tried to speed shoot it i would loose bb,shake it up to get it back, take my time and bb would shoot again.Yep has 3 settings of power.Killed me a trash bag good, didn't look at the air matress floaty thing inside though. ::)

Mama might sink next trip to the lake :P

I can tell you from experience that on the "high" setting, it WILL pierce a brand new pair of Levi 501s and leave one HECK of a welt....AND teach you to dance!! :-\
