1865 Spencer serial number

I recently purchased a Contract model 1865 Spencer Carbine contract built by Burnside rife company 1865. serial number is 19271. it is fitted with the Stabler cut-off. Any and all information pertaining to where it was issued is appreciaed. Thank you.

Not sure I can be of any help with your Burnside Spencer serial # question.  Please read the following paragraphs, especially the first one, which were taken from the "Holy Grail"  Spencer Repeating Firearms by Roy M. Marcot.



Your Burnside Spencer Carbine may have gone out West or may have been sold overseas.

I'm not sure how helpful they would be.  I tried using their search engine and just typed in Spencer Carbine and received "0" Returns.  If you think they may have the info you're looking for, give them a try.
