Didn't they switch after the first season or so?

OK, I couldn't rest so I looked it up. Here is a picture from season2 episode36 showing a C&B pistol and one from season 2 episode 42 with an SAA. The switch was somewhere in between. The question is, did they get new leather or just keep the old stuff?

There is a photo, I can't find right now but I've seen several times
Of the four Cartwrights, all have their guns drawn and point at the Camera .
Little Joe has 51 Navy
Adam has a Richards ( Will... if you look close you will see in your offering, Adam holds a Richards)

I need to find it again...

I can't say for sure, but I think I remember them wearing period holsters for a while. I think I have one of there early sets on DVD, I'll have to watch it again and pay more attention to what they're wearing.

You're absolutely right, Major. I hadn't noticed the ejector and lack of rammer before. You have a good eye.

Here are another couple pics. 2-33 is the first episode of season 2 showing Adam's conversion and Little Joe's C&B. It looks like it has a round barrel like a Griswold and Gunnison or a Colt Dragoon. The second picture, 2-55, shows Adam with an SAA. His leather is definitely different in the second photo. I guess they must have had new rigs made for the new pistols.

Looks like Adam change his hat too tan with the Richards , and black with the SAA.

The carved Rig look much like the later Loren Green rig in the early photo

Little Joe wears a Black hat and later episodes wore a tan one.

I found the photo of the rigs used by the Cartrights. It is in R.L. Wilson's book, The Peacemakers, page 333. It shows the rigs purported to have been used by Ben, Hoss and Little Joe. The rigs shown for Ben and Hoss appear to be the same ones shown in the above photos. Hoss with a black carved rig and Ben with a tan carved rig. Little Joe's rig is different from that shown above. In my book, it is a plain tanned rig, probably used later when he changed hats.
