Shotgun Steve

With imprint of B.F. Marsh. French was lynched by a mob on December 29, 1888 after he was arrested for the murder of a neighbor. This image shows his lifeless body hanging from a town green space, with a crowd of onlookers, including a man wearing a badge -- presumably the Greeley sheriff. (Colorado Courts, April 2003, pg 7).
I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I require the same of them."
