You know you're getting addicted to The Holy Black when you go outside in the morning to get the paper and you end up getting disoriented and confused because although there's thick smoke everywhere, there's not even a hint of the wonderful smell of burned sulfur.

Maybe it's just me, but since I've started shooting BP, fog seems rather pointless.

You know you're getting addicted when, after a nice long shooting day you go home, blow your nose and it's BLACK: AND YOU'RE PROUD!

I've only been shooting wholly black for the past few months.

Now when I shoot smokeless, I feel like I got bugs crawlin' on me.   :o

If there's a match, and I don't have wholly black to shoot, I can't think of a reason to get out of bed in the morning.   ???
God forgives, I don't........

I know exactly what you are talking about!  After nothing but shooting BP for two years, I tried out one of my old milsurp rifles at the range, and the smell of the smokeless powder seemed unpleasant and made my eyes burn.

To the Fire,

You know you're addicted when you look in the powder safe and realize you're down to only about 10 cans of double FF left.  You scold the wife fer letting you get down so low and she says "I'm so sorry dear, how could I have let that happen".  Then you think you hear her softly mutter "You Jerk", as she heads into the other room.

Addiction, ain't it GREAT!!

Another sign is when you need more 45 LC brass to load, but all of yours is tied up in the 1500 rounds loaded with smokeless that you assembled just prior to changing to Holy Black.  However, you can't bear to shoot smokeless in your guns so you order more brass instead.  I suppose that 1500 rounds will be willed to my son when I die.

AD,

I am perplexed.  If'n yer boy leans to the Dark Side, as well, then he'll be saddled with 1500 rounds of that awful smoke-i-less stuff too.  He'll be in the same pickle that you is in now.

So Sad.....................Cowboy Yard Sale comes to mind.

You know you're addicted when your other 2 side arms, your rifle & your autloading shotgun hasn't seen the light of day in nearly 3 years because your Muzzleloaders & C&B Revolvers take up all your shooting time.

I keep tellin them that it ain't them that it's me but I don't think they are listening to me any more.

Dr. Bob

AD,

Being the fine feller that you are, take the 1500 smokeyless rounds to the range and let new shooters use them to get the feel of CAS shooting.  They will like CAS and then you can bring them over to the Dark Side!! ;D ;D

Dr. Bob,

That is, in fact, a darn fine idea.  Then I can also recover the brass for something worthwhile.  A true win-win! ;D
