Is that shotgun a copy of a colt shotgun if so which model? If not
then what? I own a first gen Vaquero is it to heavt to use in cass nowa
days? Would I be better off getting the new version? How many
pistols do I need?

I have the 1st gen Vaquero, older Rossi 92, Spartan SPR 220H on the way
was thinking about a Bond Derringer.

As far as I know the Sparta isn't a copy of the Colt.
Sarting out use the guns you own. Most other Shooters will let you handle or try their guns and you can decide then what you might like to start with.  Some guys like me stick with pretty much the same gun forever, or until they have to be replaced, some guys show up with a different gun or set of guns nearly every shoot.
Yes, I do have more facial hair now.

To shoot any Cass except the Three Gun deal, yep you need 2 revolvers. You only need a Derringer for side matches. In 12 years of shooting Cass I've fired a Derringer once.

3 Gun reference is the three styles I:E  Revolver, Rifle & Shotgun...in fact your need 2 revolvers or reload on the clock (which is not Gamer speed friendly, the whole idea behind W3G, that & movement)

However, there are two gun classes in NCOWS, these include Working Cowboy & Orginials.
Some, SASS clubs are begining to offer a two gun regiment of classes , on a limited local level.

OMV to heavy ?  well , good many are still used and will be a mighty long time.
I think you would be better served to skip the Bond, and find a good used OMV to pair with yours.
when planets align...do the deal !
