Howdy to the fire!

Just dropping in to say hi and let you all know I haven't died, and I am still alive. I haven't shot anything other than  blanks or a few .30 carbine rounds in over a year and a half due to a severe shoulder injury and two major open rebuild surgeries. In fact, only did one re-enactment that whole time (Pittsfield, 2009)  That is before it fell apart after the first surgery a month later.  It is heck getting old. Two months ago I got the OK from the saw bones for shooting non-magnum handguns. Probably be another 6 months (or more) before I get the OK for anything like a 12 gauge.

In fact, after months of unpaid medical leave and a cash negative unoccupied rental property, it has depleted the armory.  I Couldn't even buy a used  Armi Sport Spencer if I sold all of the few irons I have left.  Still love the Spencer, and wish I had one again, but  not in the near future.  I don't have a teaching contract for next year due to cutbacks on non-tenured teachers in Illinois and Missouri, so we sold the house and are relocating to Memphis area to our daughters. They will end up with 40 students in a class here, instead of 25-30.  That's their problem now.  Then upside is that my wife hated the cold winters here anyway, and we are looking forward to spending time with our oldest daughter and son-in-law

When the doctor slapped me on the backside when I was born, never said life would always go the way you want it.  Not hanging around, just dropping by.  Shoot a few Spencer rounds for me.

   Greetings!

I miss seeing your contributions: get well, dammit! Tell those bones to quit screwing around, and knit! Promise your shoulder a 'new' pistola if it behaves...
I spent half a day (my Birthday...!) at the Hospital, thanks to Kidney Stones; I'd never had them before, and just thought that my Kidney was going to explode! After I got the IV, the World became a kinder place, and the Stones were all small enough to pass out later in the week without trauma.
The Truck died (1990 Toyota Long Bed), so I had to buy another; a week later, it was announced that I was back on full-time schedule! Huzza! I'm not necessarily "eating Macaroni & Cheese" every night, but I don't foresee any new toys, unless they're "free"...
Enough of my sniveling! Get Well, TL!!!

   BE Well!

Good luck on your move T.L.,

Hopefully you will find respite in Memphis.  We are over in Michigan and Lord knows we tire of winter.  Keep writing and get well!

Sincerely,
