Cattleman,

Great Looking Rig!  Makes me want to try it!

On another tack, here is Mssr Buffet singing the song we spoke of ... it takes a while to get wound up , so hang on...

P.S. the photography is WAY too dark, but the acousticas are really good!
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

Howdy Cattleman,

You did a great job on your first Rig! Everything about it looks real good! Neat job of stamping and a very nice design! Thanks for sharing this with us.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Dave Cole

That's very nicely done , especially for your first.Dave :)

Well done C, you are really taking to this leather craft, your rig would be good if this was your sixth, you do nice work, and you put a lot of thought into what you're working on, can't wait to see what's next. ::) ;D

That's terrific. Doesn't look like a first attempt at all. Keep 'em coming.

Really looking good, and fast, I might add.  Pox on those cartridge loops, I have reached the point that I never add them to my belts anymore.  At this point the really well done cartridge slides look better on a belt to me anyway and you get to use the same belt for multiple holsters and calibers.  As ones collection of guns grows, so will his leather needs if he doesnt improvise a bit.

Nice rig, Pard. I usually don't put loops on my belts either. I just use a bullet pouch for a couple extras. The era I'm emulating doesn't support bullet loops, for the most part. Good excuse for not sewing them, eh?

I understand how some of you feel about bullet loops, but for me I like them, I shoot either 45 long colt or 44, the bullet loops I make work for both, so it isn't a problem, for my other guns I  have different more modern belts, and for my double actions I have speed loader pouches, and my autos mag pouches.
For my single action guns, even if it is just for a six rounds of bullet loops, I like having them, bullet loops just look old west to me, and I don't mine sewing them in so far  :-\ ???, but that could change in time, I do have some gun belts that don't have loops, and I like them, they are lighter to wear, and as long as I'm wearing a coat or vest with pockets to put my bullets in I'm comfortable wearing a loop less belt . I've always worn my gun leather when hunting, or just being in the wilderness, so my gun leather has to do double duty. This is just my opinion, every one has different thoughts on this, if you're a CB shooter you wouldn't need loops, just a bag.

;)  Thanks for all your support Pards, and you Slowhand Bob for the holster blanks you included when I bought the books from you.  I had never thought I might have a talent for this, but your help and encouragement has given me a new hobby that ties into my love of the west and a great group of new friends.  I hope I get the chance to meet each and everyone of you someday.  Thanks again, and maybe I'll do a 1911 holster next.
