I cut out, lined, and sewed a 49er type holster to see how it would fit my NMV, then dropped in a pot of coffee dye for 5 days. The leather had very little handling, and I wiped it down with iso alcohol before putting it the coffee. Like the others I've tried, it came out very streaky, and I'm not sure why. There's a light mark on it where it laying in the bottom, but it's still a mess in other places, and I wonder what I'm doing wrong. When I have a little more time I'll take a picture of it to show you what I mean, 'cause I'm looking for help! I used a very strong roast, and boiled it for days. A horseshoe would stand up in it.
