Here's a link to some pics of a McClellan Saddle I just finished. I know most of the pics we show here are non-military, but here's something different.  Not as time consuming as a dugout canoe......but still a lot of work!

David, there were a lot of old "stripped down " McClellans hanging in peoples barns when I was growing up in the south. That is the first one I have ever seen with all the accoutrements.  It is beatiful work and makes me wish I had collected a few along the way.  Thanks for showing it to us. I will be going back to your site to check it out from time to time.

Wow, nice work on this saddle, I can see where these saddles might have been a little harder to ride with, this is a beautiful example of a McClellan saddle, thanks for sharing with us.

That is a nice saddle, David. The stitching on the seat is beautifully done. Doggone handsome piece of leatherwork.

David,

That is an exceptional piece of work. A beautiful saddle.  I think I may have mentioned to you in the past that I have a fully restored 1904 pattern McClellan done by F. Burgess in Redbank, N.J.  If I remember correctly you advised me that Mr. Keuwn , had some serious medical problems and had to close Burgess down....
