Effective immediate the position of Battle Rifle Officer is redesignated as Ordnance Officer.

Bvt Lt. Col. D.C. "Drydock" Luetkemeyer has been instrumental in developing the Battle Rifle Program and identifying those arms that are approved for use in the Battle Rifle categories.  His duties have expanded to include identifying firearms used in the Victorian-era military and approving those that can be used in GAF authorized Musters.  The title of Ordnance Officer better reflects his increased responsibilities

Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

Working on it, maybe by next year.  The proper crimson shoulderboards and trim will be a hard find.

I made the mistake of assuming the crimson boards were correct for that time period as well. They DID have them, no mistake, but Ordnance was considered in many cases a staff branch, so staff boards would very much be correct with Ord buttons which are easy to get. But if you MUST have Ord branch boards, modern shoulder boards are made in some cases with bullion wire thread if you know where to look...
I was an Ord Captain with the real green machine from 98-06, and spent a lot of time at the museum at Aberdeen going through all their info on these subjects...

According to the regs, Ordnance was considered a Staff Officer's position.  Staff Officer uniforms were rather plain.  Dark Blue tunic and trousers with no stripe down the pant legs.  You had the Ordnance Department Staff Buttons, or the Staff buttons with the Eagle on them.

The Yunic could have 1/4 inch Black mohair braid around the edges of the tunic and in some cases a 1/2 inch black braid around the sleeve, 3 inches from the cuff.

If you can see the photo above and magnify it to see the detail.

Yep, still thinking like an enlisted man.  Not too far off now, all my uniforms have artillery red.
