gunmaker **COLTMAN**, is there anyone who knows this name ?

Howdy,

I can buy an 36-Cal Percussion Hand Gun, 5,5 inch, with an name at the barrel, ** COLTMAN ** (incl. stars before and behind the name). Some investigations tells me it is an 1861/1862 police (model)

I can't find anything about this makersname on internet etc.

Is there someone out in the universe  who can tell me something about this name (**COLTMAN**) ?

Ther is a fellow who sells single actions on Gunbroker named Jim Glidden who goes by the name "Coltman". Don't know if there is any connection. Go to Gunbroker and do a search for Great Western guns. Most of those listed will be his.
