rouge ???

hey pards i know we went threw this once before but i cant seem to find it so ill ask it again and Marshal Will if you could but this subject in the FAQ thread id  be greatful
what i wanna Know is whats the diference between the red jewelers rouge and the white rouge you buy at tandy is there really any difference  ??? ??? ???

Howdy
The Red is softer and made for soft metals. I've been told by Bob Beard the red will not touch his blades because of how hard the metal is. I use the red on all my swivel knives including Bob's.
I use the white on my head knives. It is harder to get spread on my strop.

Ty WC i was sitting here wondering what the difference was and now i know so im gonna be getting some white monday when i get to cheyenne tandy storehave to get a belt blank and more leather im getting busy LOL got orders coming out my ears now

Cowboy316, our local Lowes Building Materials store has a full assortment of the various sharpening compounds with a chart instructing the best use for each.  And most important, for the budding business man, it is packaged in a larger more economical amount.
