YAAAAAAAAAAAA  HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!  I finally got it.  The Post Office lost it for 2 days. >:( >:( >:(

It's an Army frame in 44 Colt.  I am planning to shoot 44 Russian in it to match my 1860 Henry.  I'll be shooting it with Holy Black exclusively!  Got 500 cases from Starline and got some Big Lube boolits for it.  Just have to sit down and load 'em up.

The fit and finish is real good.  The trigger pull is not too heavy, but has a bit of creep.  Will work fine for now on steel targets!  ;D  ;D  Going to try it out on the 30th!!  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D[/size]

Howdy Dr. Bob,

Congratulations on your new Open Top! Its always exciting getting a new firearm.

Last week I put a box Black Hills .44 Russian cartridges through my new Richards Transition. It was a lot of fun to shoot. I'm not a good pistol shot but I did fairly well with it. Today I loaded some .44 Russian and .44 Colt Cartridges with my new Lee tooling. I'm anxious to see how these rounds shoot.

Congrats Dr. Bob......You didn't mention barrel length..5 1/2?

That load should work just swell, It's what I use in mine.
Shot one of my R-Ms the other day at the farm and managed a couple hits on a 10" x 12" steel plate ~ 100 yds...had a few that were close, too.

Slim

Howdy Slim,

I opted for the 7 1/2 inch barrel.  Since 5 1/2 inch barrels were not in the Army supply line in 1872, I thought that the long barrel would be better for my 1872 Engineer officer persona!  Kinda anal I guess! ::) :o ::) ;D ;D  I've been unpacking 1870's English Staffordshire china for this impression tonight!  ;D
