Excuse my ignorance ???. Been reading the forum, other websites, auction website with descriptions of Henry sor sale. In the description is the sentence "sharp Henry Bump visable" or words with the same meaning.
Well here is the question at last:

WHAT IS THE/A HENRY BUMP?????

Hmmmmmm................Never really heard that one before. If you look carefully at the frame of a Henry, it is a bit different than the frame of a '66 or a '73. In the area of the hammer, the '73 and '66 have a smooth curve where the frame transitions into the wrist, the Henry has a more abrupt 'bump' in that area. Dunno if that is what he is referring to or not. Can't see why it would be worth mentioning, all replica Henrys are like that.
That's bad business! How long do you think I'd stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he'd pay me that much to stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!

I think the "bump" refers to the curvature of the receiver where the fireing pin protrudes. Early 66's, like Henrys had a sharp curve, where later 66's had more of a "slope".

No, the Henry "bump" is a distinct little raise in the wood on the side of the buttstock. The theory is that that is where the buttstock was clamped in a fixture to cut the slot for the sling plate.  ;) Replicas don't have the "bump".

Joe Lansing

    I stand corrected.
