I am a seller on Ebay, and usually I just ship to the good ole US of A.  I am not a business but can help others with my junk and it helps to support my shooting addiction.  I sold a swedish mauser bayonet the other day, when the auction was finished the winner was a person in China.  Not sure if you guys can help but here goes.

I have a couple of problems with this:

Can you legally ship a bayonet to this country?
Even if I do decide to ship this item the country or zip code is only three digits, and have not been able to find information.
I state that I only ship to the United States, but it is not emphasised, so does any one know the process so I can keep from getting negative feedback.
The biggest problem I have is this is a communist country, not sure what problems will arise later if I ship there.

Any suggestions and anything I can not think of would be appreciated.

Thanks

Howdy,
I sell on ebay too and if you stated in your auction that you only ship within the USA, it is up to bidders to read all the fine print in the sell. You will have to jump thru hoops to ship a "weapon" to China.

Just tell the winner to read the fine print next time, reauction the item. It is just not worth the hassle.

As to the bad feed back. You respond with "This person did not read shipping instructions. Only ship within the USA, Not China."  :P

Hope that helps

Or if the winning Bidder can provide you a U.S. shipping address (a friend) who inturn will ship it to where ever the Bidder wants?

Thanks for the responses, here is what I have done:

I have sent several emails to the guy, asking what the procedures were through customs, addresses etc.  He has only sent me one response stating where he wants it shipped (china).  Finally I emailed him and stated that after checking things out there was quite a few legallities involved and would not be able to ship this item to him.  I asked him to appreciate my position, as I stated in my auction that I only ship to USA.  Then went and sent a second chance offer to the next highest bidder and sold the bayonet in the US for a dollar less.  If he leaves negative feedback I will deal with it then.

Thanks again, guess I just needed someone on my side.
