Fox Creek Kid

I had Rifle, who posts on here, tune a used Uberti '58 .44 I bought at a gun shop for $95 out the door last year. It was in mint condition. Rifle went over the gun meticulously and tweaked & tuned everything. Recrowned the barrel and installed a taller front sight as well. I believe he did not ream the chambers as he said they were fine and actually I think the previous owner did this. Anyway, I finally got around to shooting this pup today and there are few things as sweet as when a cap 'n ball revolver runs like a well oiled machine!! Ragged hole dead nuts on at 12 yds with 25 gr. FFFg and nary one cap jam with Rem #10!! All caps perfectly splayed on the cones. Now that's the way a percussion revolver should work!! I thought I'd post this as we all read the horror stories of Italian QC and wince. But, it's nice to know there are a few people out there such as Wayne who can fix these guns & make 'em run right!!

Wayne, you are THE cap 'n ball man!!  ;)

Fox Creek Kid,glad to hear you had a good range time. That's good to hear.
You know how to "wring them out" and get the best out of them. "Dead Eye" Fox Creek Kid.....Wild Bill Hickock would be jealous of your shootin and would covet your "Remington sure shot". ;D
Hey, you need a companoin to that Uberti Rem. Why not one of those USFA Remingtons? I haven't heard anything about those lately. Are they on the market yet? The cap&baller one?
Anywhoooo...glad to hear you had a good shoot.
