I had the opportunity to shoot my M1876 in .45-60 WCF at a match last month.  Using an RCBS cast 350 grain RNFP and 60 gr (volume) of Goex Pinacle I was able to hit the long range targets at Ickysberg, PA.  I was surprised that you were allowed to shoot real rilfle rounds at a Cowboy Action Match during the main match and not at a side match. :)

Seeing the room I've seen at some of the closer ranges, I'm surprised we don't see more of this. ???
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

You can't beat the 45-60 . She is a real sweet heart to shoot . What barrel length is your rifle .

The M1876 I own has a 26 inch Octogon Barrel.  It's just about the right mix of weight and length it could for the type of rifle it is.  I'd really like to get the RCMP Carbine version in .45-60 as it would fit my personna better.
