Went to an auction with a lot of reloading stuff, and some cool guns. Come home with some lead bullets, bullet molds, a Pacific shotgun press, etc, all for a decent price. Didnt get 1 single gun tho.
Stopped at Cabelas on the way home, and in the cap and ball case was a 44 cal 51 with a sale tag on it. It was steel framed, nickeled grip frame and trigger guard, and looked good. It was the Civilian model according to the catalog, and I had a match to it already at home.
I told the guy behind the counter I would take it, and he tried to find one in a box. Well, he kept bringing up the 51 Reb brass framed ones, and I kept telling him I didnt want the brass frame. Seems the sale was on the brass framed ones, and someone had mismarked the display. He said no problem, and gave it to me for 129.00 out the door.
Cant beat that!
On top of that, there was a nice Triple K brand Saddle Scabbard in the bargain cave, and it was marked for 50% of the sale price! I spent a whole 159.00 in Cabelas today, and feel good! Time to play the lottery!
