Tube removal

I've tried to figure out how to remove the cartridge tube in my 44 Russian Spencer. It looks like there is a ring in the buttstock holding the tube in place.

Can someone walk me through the tube removal?

my  taylors 56-50 has the same ring. remove the stock, tap the ring lose and remove. the tube should come right out.kurt250

Hey, Shenandoah, are you the same Shenandoah what rides with the Two Rivers Posse?  I've never seen ya totin' a Spencer.  I plan to break mine in at the next match.
