Anyone know why my Winchester releases 2 rounds of 44mag under the feed ramp when the lever is cycling the action? It doesn't happen all the time. I have to unscrew the lever to drop them out. Any info would be helpful, thanks.

I've seen this in newer guns.  Look at cartridge OAL AND make sure all the screws in the gun are tight.  This might seem too simple  but loose screws have caused this.  I "fixed" this problem for a pard at a shoot by tightening the screws in the receiver about a half turn.  Don't over do it !!

More than likely you have what the Winchester factory called a bad link.  The link has a little tit on the rear of it right next to the magazine tube.  It is very fragile, and tends to break off.

It's not like it used to be, but it'll do.

Check to see when it was made. The 1st ones made in late 1968, and early 69 had problems.  If made then there is a wire spring added to the gun.

I agree with Wrangler Rich, the tiny tri-angular 'tit' is all that holds back the next or following rounds in the magazine.
The one on our 'club' rifle got broken and caused exactly the fault described. :'(
A quick application of TIG welding, a touch of fettling, and all was back to normal. ;D
As mentioned in an earlier post, ensure your cartridge OAL is correct to cut out any other feeding problems.

Hi,

I hate to ask the dumb question, but what is an OAL round?  I got a deal on a Model 94/.45 LC that I could not turn down .... and I have heard that the .45 LC has this exact problem .....

BTW, does anyone have a suggestion for a good front site that is legal and works well on a Model 94?
