Hey guys I just finished this belt and added a two tone billet to it. I was never a big fan of the two tone look but I think I have changed my mind....I like it. What do you think...this is the best place to show work photo's with people that share the same interests...Thanks

Well, Freedom, you did nicely with that. I like the stitch line being the division between the two colors. Thanks for the post.

Great work, I really like the look of that belt. I agree with the Marshall about the stitching dividing the two colors. Keep up the good work.

Freedom

Thak you guys for all the kind words and for taking a look at my work.

JD ...I usually use artist brushes that have small but stiff bristles for applying dye to small areas, But on this one I used the most sophisticated tool in my arrsonal...a Q-tip with the cotton pulled from the stick.  ;D

On this belt I used an edge creaser first and then ran my #5 stitching wheel down the crease, pressing hard. This recessed the stitch line below the surface a ways so that as I applied the dye it was easier to keep out of the stitch line ...( there is no thread in the stitch line, just the embossing from the wheel) Then I put on some antique to fill the stitchwheel marks and rubbed most of it out so it made the high points of the stitch embossing shine between the holes.

It's good to be here...thanks everone!

Thanks for that explaination Wes. It was just what I thought it would be, lots of very careful work. The color on the entire rig, holster and belt is very nice, besides that fact that it's a great two tone. The stamping, along with the stitch groove and overstitch wheel makes for a great look. This is an inspiring rig. Thanks for sharing it with us, JD
