Howdy Pards,
I been watching these carving video's, and i ak sure that this man says he uses  a line beveler? Is there any other company that makes stamping that are at the Tandy Price range?
Also, if anyone has time could you give me the numbers of bevelers that you use, I thought I had a lot of beveler's untill I look at them close when first starting carving and that a lot of them are figure tools. I don't mean to be wasting everyone's time, i just was hopeing i could find out some stuff?

You can check those numbers for bevelers in your Tandy Catalog, unless you're asking about some other makers tools, the Tandy catalog shows all the numbers and the imprint, and there are a lot of them, and then other makers usually have several too, and you should be able to fine them on line or in their catalog if they have one, it's always been easier for me to have a visual on the imprint and then I mark the number of what I'm interested in. hope this helped Pard. :D

ACE,
THere are tool makers that make what's called a push beveler.
It's a tool with a wooden handle that you push into the cased leather, instead of tooling , much faster for straight lines,
like on a belt. Barry King makes one about $30. I don't know if thats what your talkin about..Hope this helped.

....and then theres also checked bevelers and lined bevelers that go up and downsy as well as sideways, as well as the smooth bevelers. All of 'em are fun ta use for a variation in the looks of yer work.
The more you read and observe about this Politics thing, you got to admit that each party is worse than the other. The one that's out always looks the best.

I've never used one. I like using my standard bevelers for everything. You could make one by taking your beveler and putting it in a file handle to try the concept. If you use one of those collet-type handles, you could get your bevel out of the handle easily, too.

Howdy Pards,
Next time I watch that Video I will try and see what it looks likes, but it wasn't I push beveler, The one guy that I traded all those deer antlers for his leather tools, had a lot of home made tools, and I got a push beveler with it. No big deal, the only thing I could think he was talking about was a beveler that was a lot longer, so when you were going dow a strait line you would get more coverage, so I took a 1/4 carriage bolt and ground it regtangular, and then angle ground it to about the same pith as a normal beveler, then off course i did a lot of sanding and polishing!

I am still looking for a Super Large Pear Shader, Tandy used to make them, but don't think they have for years! And untill I get my motor on my lathe moved, I can't make one of them> I been watching ebay, with no luck!
Thanks Pards
