I am looking for a Winchester for my grandson. I want a model '94 in either a 30-30, 38-55 or .44mag. No reciever safty deal though. Angle eject would be considered. A nice 'pre'64 would REALLY be considered, though any '94 is food for thought for the lad.

You tell youngesters now-a-days you hunted with iron sighted, lever guns when you were young, they look at you dis-believling.

You can email me at  marshal_deadwood@yahoo.com   if you can put me onto a nice '94.

Thank you

Can't help you with a Win, but I can relate and agree with your views. Both my boys were brought up on lever guns when they started deer hunting, one a 44 Mag, the other a thudy-thudy Marlin. It's the way God meant for us to learn how to hunt, and take our hallowed place in natures domain! 'Course we all use scopes now and then, but I'll be using my lever guns much more in the coming hunts.

You're teachin' that lad right Mr. Deadwood :) Way to go!

Marlin 336 30-30.  Takes a top mount scope.  Have my son's, he's thirty, and it was used when he got it at 12.  Tack driver, and loves Hornady Leverlution (sp?) spitzer ammo.
