My dad has a Taurus Gaucho and he is wanting me to find some stag grips for it. I was looking at buffalobrothers.net and was wondering how the grip on the Gaucho is made? Would Ruger or SAA grips fit it or does it need to be Gaucho specific?

I have 2 Taurus Gauchos, I really like them, geat shooters, mine are in .38spl/.357 mag. Nice smooth actoins, and acurate.

I bought some grips for mine, from Dixie Gun works. I got the rose wood grips, at $25.00 pr. You have to fit them to the gun, as they are quite over size. They have an extensive list of grips on thier site. You might give them a try.

Thanks. Were the grips ordered under Gaucho specifically or did you just order single action army grips?

I ordered  grips for an SAA Clone. As stated they have a good selection of grips.

Joey Guns,

Nobody's grips fit anybody's guns. Not even their own.  Grips are always just a touch oversize for fitting, unless you get some fly by night manufacturer, then they are undersize and never fit right.

There will be some fitting work, no matter who you order from or what you order, unless you send in your grip frames and the maker has a fitting service.

Thanks for the info.

When I bought my grips for my Ruger Vaquero I just ordered the grips for that gun and they fit just right. I see most of them say you need to do some fitting but they also have two different styles but I guess if I ordered the SAA grips and just fit them down it would be just fine.

What types of tools are best for the fitting? Just sand paper?
