Howdy Folks,

It's been some time since I did any gun tinkering so I could use a little advice. A friend of mine recently had a very bad domestic problem that ended his 15 year old marriage (not that bad a thing as they never really got along that well), but before it ended he was accused and convicted of domestic violence (which I don't believe for a minute and testified to at the trial) >:(. Any way it goes, he had to get rid of his guns quickly, and I ended up buying his pair of 7 1/2" blued .44-40 Old Vaqueros. I have a very nice Pedersoli 30" bbl '73 Winchester sporting rifle in that caliber, and now I have a pair of pistols to match. The fly in the buttermilk is that these Old Vaqueros still have the aluminum ejector rod housings and I'd like to replace them with good blued steel versions, preferably ones that would take bullseye ejector rods. I haven't bought any pistol parts in ten years and could use a bit of advice on who to contact. Thank you very much for your time. ;)

Yep, those alum. housings are god awful.  You got the right idea with those bullseye ejectors.  I have em on all of my vaqs.  There not that hard to make if you have any kind of metalworking experiance, and access to some tools.  I just recently bought a blued metal housing (only) from these guys:
