Was given the 6 disk set the other day :)
We're still on the first disk, but if the rest of it is as good, this is some outstanding work!  Top notch cast, excellent story line, and colthing and props are right on (the first two chapters are 1790's-early 1800 so will see how they do as time progresses).
High marks all around from the Tanner homestead.

If my memory serves me correct, NBC aired Cenntienall in Oct. 1978 and ran through March, 1979.

Well we're on the third disk now and the story has moved onta cattle drivin.  Still good.  The cocinero is a great character.

Finished the 5th disc last night.  Still good, but not compared to the first couple episodes  It's almost like they switched directors at one point.  Some interesting plot lines have evolved and all the gear seems to be correct for each period they go through.  This set was a gift and I haven't looked up the dollar value on it, but if it's whithin reason I'd reccomend it.  Gonna be strange to finish it, we've been working on it so long.

Will Ketchum

I remember the mini-series.  It was a great book and the series followed it fairly well.

Well we finished it.  I gotta say it was good all the way through the second to last episode.  That one ended everything nicely and completed the story.  Then comes the last episode, it was awful.  All of a sudden it's 1978 and Andy Griffith, who is thinking about writing a book about the town, starts investigatin stuff.  It like watching an episode of Matlock.  I guess it has it's purpose, but fer western fans, I'd just skip that one an call it good after chapter 11.
IMHO.

I tried to buy the "Centennial" VHS series of tapes some years back. Some clown was trying to sell an unopened VHS set of "Centennial," for $800.00. He is still trying to sell it for $800.00!

I almost spent $120.00, which was the original price for the Centennial VHS tape set. However, I just wouldn't turn loose of that much money, for VHS tapes.

Then a short while back "Centennial" was released on DVD, at a list price of $59.99. I found it for $39.99, and bought it. I liked it all the way through. The fur trade era of "Centennial," was the part I liked the best.
