Money belt repair?

I have a two layer money belt and the outer layer tore slightly right on the fold....about 1/3" in a triangular flap. Whats the
best way to repair it..from the inside or outside? Should I sew a small patch around the area after the tear is stitched shut?

Hey anti, this looks like it could be a good exercise....could you take a picture of the spot. I'd like to see what others would do.

Good idea Hank.....I say if you line up 6 leather workers and ask them how to repair a given piece of work...you'll get 6 different answers....all good stuff.
