Well, it's in the overnite!  The application for the first Texas NCOWS Posse is on it's way.  We been working on this since November.  We will host NCOWS shoots on the 2nd Saturday and the 4th Sunday of each month starting in April.  We have been hosting a NCOWS format match on the 2nd Saturday since November.  We added the 4th Sunday match to accomodate the demand from shooters, who cannot make the Saturday matches.

Cole......and all you fellas from Texas.........I've been asked to come down there the end of April, first of May to video tape the SASS Texas State shoot in Oakwood Texas, located half way between Dallas and Houston on  interstate 45.

Do any of you plan on attending the Texas State match? If you are, make sure and say hello.....I'll be the one on period dress walking around with a 12 lb. video camera on about a five foot adjustable pole.

Yep, several of us will be there.  I've been asked to be one of the posse marshalls.  If you're shooting guns as well as cameras, why not sigh up on our posse.

Cole, I'll be dressed but I won't be able to shoot....Its a two day, all day job video taping each posse member shooting the match. I like to make sure I get all the posses shooting....we'll have a booth set up but I won't be in it very much.

Are the members from your club gonna shoot on the same posse? If you are, make sure you let me know which posse number it is.

If you've seen the NCOWS Notational Shoot DVD, you'll see I like to caption the names of the shooters I know. Just look for the best looking Indian down there and that will be me. ;D ;D

Let's hear it for Texas, way to go cowboys. Let's see March is the month that the blue bonnetts bloom. Usualy late March. Would they still be blooming the second Saturday of April. Would sure like to shoot in Texas again and see those blue bonnetts. TJ

To answer several questions here if I may. Yes, us Ten Horn members have asked to be put on the same posse. I'll make a point to look you up Bill. I'm shooting Frontier Cartridge Duelist so I'll be shooting the holy black in Oakwood as I am in Evansville in June.
As to the Bluebonnet question....it's anybody's guess when they'll show up. Depends on temp, amount of rain and so on. They are beautiful though, especially when some of the Indian Paint Brushes get in amoungst them!  Now THAT's what I call diversity!

Bad News......I may not be able to make the Texas State shoot ??? I had an MRI yesterday and I have a torn Meniscus in my right knee that I have to get repaired (scoped). This will be done the second week in April.......It's outpatient surgery and I'll be walking on it the next day so hopefully I'll be in shape to be down there.

You may be walking on it alright but they apparently forgot to tell you about the next 4-6 weeks of physical therapy.

Joss......Its not a real bad tear (I've been walking on it since November with little discomfort unless I turn or twist my knee). My Doc says four weeks and I'll be good as new. I wanted to wait until November for the surgery but then I would have missed deer season.
