Who here likes to engage in that famous past time of gunspinning? Pietta, EuroArms, and Uberti; which one spins better in your hand?
A work in progress.

I've tried to do the "road agent" ~ "Currly Bill" spin. . . and find the '58s to be too barrel heavy.  I used to be good at that spin with a 5 1/2 in. barrel "prop gun" that I had.   If anyone has a tecnique for doing it I'll like to hear about it.  I figure the short barreled '58s could be spun Ok . . . but they ain't "hysterically coo-rect".   ;D
Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

The short Remmies do spin well. As to historically correct, weren't there were a number of them that were cut down after they got into the civilian market?

I had a special gunbelt and  three holsters made up for my routine with a 12" 1858, 5 1/2" Cimmaron, and a 3" Ruger.  I wanted a novelity act for the Bar G Wranglers Cowboy Supper and Western Show.   I had started out with a pair of 4 3/4" Ruger Vaqueros to learn the moves and make up the routine and then just tranfered the tricks to the longer barrels.  Using the soundtrack from Hang Em' High, I started with the 3" Ruger, spins and juggling, moved on to the 5 1/2" then finnish up with the 12".  Got a lot of laughs when I would bring out the Remmie.  It was a bit akward at first, but with pratice I could do the butterfly, double flat, texas lift, and reverse spin in to the holster.  One thing I had to do was take the loading lever off.  It would stay locked in and would sometimes fly out during the tricks.  Thought about soldering it in place, but never got around to putting it back on, worked just fine and nobody noticed it missing anyway.

Nowdays at the Charity QuickDraw I just use the Rugers, but I can still spin anything when the need arises.

Best advise I ever got about gun spinning was from Gordie Peer who taught Clayton Moore,
"Know where your holsters and guns are...without looking!" ;)

Best video on gunspinning, "GunPlay", produced by Western Stage Props of Las Vegas  www.westernstageprops.com   Jo Benson is the best to work with.
