Please define " good price" . New barrel and original are two different things. I can make you a new barrel for a 92, originals can be relined to make good shooters. Cost to reline is around $300. Cost to make a new barrel with all the markings is around $600.

To John Taylor, I have an original 92 SRC  in 44-40 that the barrell is pretty well shot. Can a 92 SRC barrell be relined or is a replacement barrell available. I was told some time ago by a fella that the 44-40 in the 92 was too thin to reline. Your thoughts?

The carbines are a little hard to reline but it can be done. Requires the liner to be turned down some so there is still some wall thickness left in the old barrel. Even the octagon barrel can be done with care, sometimes the dovetails need to be cut again.

John Taylor, What would the cost be and where are you?

Most relines are $300 but if I need to turn the liner down it will be another $30. Shipping address is

I am a licensed dealer so guns can be shipped direct to me for repair and I can send direct back without going through another dealer.

John Taylor,  What is the safest and best way to ship the rifle?

I have been using USPS but they lost a gun a few weeks back.  Fed-Ex lost an 1886 a few years ago, and UPS has tried to deliver empty boxes. All of them have problems so make sure you have enough insurance to replace it. All in all the shipping has been good with the amount that I ship. I don't need the wood, mag tube or sights to do a reline so it's best and cheaper if you keep those parts. Make sure the tang is wrapped good and the ends of the box are reinforced. I get boxes with the barrel sticking out sometimes. Seems all the shippers throw the boxes on the truck, box hits something and stops and the gun keeps moving.
Please have a note with the gun saying what you want done and return shipping info with phone number.
