Long time lurker.  This site is full of excellent material. I do have a question.  I am considering getting some 200 grain 45 L.C. smokeless ammo from Great Basin Cartridge Company.  Has any one run this stuff over a chrony?  If so, what does it run at?  Thanks in advance for any help.

I've never used or even seen ammo from that company, however, as a general rule if those 200 gr. bullets are unjacketed lead slugs they are probably "cowboy loads" and not very fast.  Probably in the neighborhood of 750 fps out of a 7.5 inch barrel.  If them 200 grainers are jacketed or of hollow point configuration they are probably defense loads and will have a higher velocity.  This makes them too hot for CAS and against SASS rules.
