Anybody ever seen the Culpepper Cattle Company? Completely unlike any other Western I've ever seen before or since.
A work in progress.

One thing that makes CCC different from most westerns is the fact that there are no major stars in the movie.  By 72, the western had almost died out, as far as the movies were concerned.

One thing that bothers me about the end of the movie is that the kid leaves his gun laying on the ground. ::)  Besides, that was a pretty good Remington New Army!

Branding Iron Bill

Excellent movie.  Very good plot.  A cult classic.  Very nitty gritty.  The costuming was very realistic.  You could almost smell the sweat.  And the sound of flys buzzing around in the background also added an extra realistic twist.  You know them flys were always buzzing around all the cow and horse dung back then.  Not all special sounds effects guys think of that when filming westerns.  The only flaw I saw was the buscadero holsters.  But that's just a minor issue.  I would love to see Tom Seleck redo this one.

PS   I don't remember the exact words, but one of my favorite lines in the movie went something like this:

The kid asks one of the hires while on the trail drive:

"Hey, nice horse, what's his name?"
"Look kid, you don't name something you may have to eat some day."

One of my all-time favorites.  Was really glad when it finally came out on DVD.
