The Good will be the pattern.  Laying on an 11 7/8" piece of tile you can see how little leather this pattern uses to fit the Rugers and SAA size revolvers with up to 6" barls.  Reduced leather means reduced money outlay and simple construction techniques will yield an end product that can be put together quickly and easily.  The end product can be as simple or elaborate as you decide.

The Bad, in this example, will be the two pieces of leather I selected for this project.  The leather was part of a large order that turned out to be far short of 'as advertised' and was good for little more than waste products.  The nap on the flesh side is so loose that one is almost through to the grain without reaching firm suede and the sad attempt at pasting the backs failed miserably.  It does however mike out to a relatively consistant 11ozs.

It looks to be a long, skinny one to me!

Hey HP, that is one fine avatar picture you got there. It looks straight out of the old west. Good job.

Its the pattern, though not finished, to something I have been thinking on.  I hope to advance this more over the next few days.  For anyone interested, the tiles that the pattern rests on are exactly 11 7/8" and I will give an exact length for that marked centerline with the next post.
