Hi all -

Can anyone out there tell me how to age a nickel-plated buckle?

Springfield Slim

Put it in the tumbler with your brass for a while.

Birchwood Casey Super Blue - you need to strip off the clear lacquer first.
Neutralize in baking soda and water afterward. them scrub back if wanted with a scrub pad or 4/0 steel wool........
If you want to pit it a bit soak in bleach after dipping in the blue - but just a short while!!! re-do if need be.........

Thanks, Slim and Chuck.

I'll give those ideas a whirl. The super blue sounds versatile. I understand you also recommend it for creating verdigris on copper, Chuck.

yep and you're welcome............
