Pedersoli Howdah - looking for info

I have conceived a great urge to buy a Pedersoli Howdah Pistol in 20 gauge smoothbore. Not really SASS, but a few specimens may have made their way out west. It could have happened. Does anyone have experience with these? This is for a steampunk impression I'm putting together. If you are unfamiliar with steampunk, you'd probably better not look it up lest you suffer headaches and severe disorientation. Suffice it to say, it's sort of like what the latter 19th century might have been like had "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" been real history, and Thomas Babbage's "difference engine" had been developed into a real computer, only using brass gears instead of electronics. Sound strange? It is. Anyway, I'd love to hear anyone's impressions of the Howdah.

As regards shooting it, I would propose 2 ways of loading:-

B/P load as for 20g shotgun, good for close quarter vermin and home defense!

B/P and patched ball, good for close quarter BIG vermin and home defense!!

If the shot or ball don't do it, the yard of flame will blind them enough to give you a head start!!!

I've never heard it referred to as Steam Punk, but I know exactly what you're referring to.  As an avid reader of science fiction, I love those types of stories.  I can envision a new SASS category rather reminiscent of rolling together the Will Smith version of "Wild Wild West" and "Back to the Future Part 3".  What a hoot!
