Howdy All,

Seems I've got myself into a perdicament I hope someone can help me with.

I took a sample guitar strap I just completed to a local guitar shop to see if I could sell a few.

What happened, has thrown me for a total loop and a half.

I got an order to make one alright.  I just wasn't expecting it to be for a very well known country music singer!

My only experience is with veg tanned cowhide and he wants one made out of tanned sheep/lambskin with interior padding.  He also wants it tooled and stamped with his name and wants it to be black with a silver metal lace along the edges.

What?
Where?
How?

Anyone got any experience working with this type of leather?
Where to buy it from?

Anyone know where I can get silver metal lace to lace each side with?

Any help greatly appreciated!!!

Saddlerider,

I would check out  leatherworker.net  and ask that among the many that make guitar straps there.

My camera is down or I would post a picture of a strap that I used to make for my friends.
I made one for myself and then several other pickers  wanted them and it sounds like it might be close to what your looking for.
My straps are tooled with the name and silver buckles and have a sheepskin pad  . You can add as much silver as you want or add silver lacing.
You can get everthing you need from a saddlers supply including silver lacing. Its easy to do but wear gloves as it can cut you deep pullling on it.

Don,

I'd love to see the pics, if you get your camera up and going again.

Thanks for the advice and where to look for the silver lace and to wear gloves when working with it.

Much appreciated info and advice guys!

Thanks!
