On Chuck's DvD I think he dunks the finished holster in the dye, thus dyeing the thread, too. Is that what you did, there, Dalton?

Yes, it was all stitched, then put in the walnut dye for a few days. The thread is Nyltex tho, so it doesnt dye very easily. If I would wipe it well, it would all be white again for the most part. On the front side, the thread groove is relatively deep, so it kind of covers the thread some.

JD,

Tip....

I also have most all of Will's pattern packs.  I have found that some are tight fitting so make a pattern up before you cut leather and make sure you have a good fit.  I usually add some to the mainseam of the pattern.

Thanks Outrider, I will keep that tip in mind.

Yes, I have that issue on some of mine as well. I usually build for a Ruger in all cases, that way a little extra is built in, and I can use them for either Ruger or Colt.
I wetmold them to Ruger or Colt tho, not both. ;) The Colts will rattle around a little if you use the one wetmolded for a Ruger.

Howdy Dalton,

This set of Holster's are absolutely gorgeous! The carving and design are beautiful... a real pleasure to look at! Many thanks for sharing this with us.

Sorry the late post. I'm trying to catch up.
