Can anyone give me information concerning a Winchester Model 1894, 30WCF with the serial number 416554 and 25" barrel? Thanks.

Buck Stinson

What info are you looking for?  Your .30 WCF (.30-30) rifle was probably made in 1907.  I think if you remeasure, you'll find it to be 26" and not 25".  Rifle barrels are measured from the face of the breech bolt to the end of the muzzle.  It sounds like you may have measured from the face of the reciever, which will give the wrong length.  The standard rifle barrel length for the model 1894 was 26".   I hope this has been of some help.

Adios,

Thanks Buck. All I had to measure with was a tape measure. Nothing to stick down the barrel. 1907, thats an old one. Are parts interchangeable with the newer model 1894's? Can I use any 30-30 ammo?

Any tape measure will work fine for measureing the length of the barrel.  You can see where the breech bolt snugs up against the chamber, everytime you close the action.  Just measure from that spot to the end of the muzzle, along the outside of the barrel.   Very few parts from the modern model '94, will fit your gun.  You should always use original parts from other guns of the period.  What parts do you need?  Any factory loaded .30-30 ammo will work fine in your rifle, provided the gun is in safe shooting condition and .30-30 ammo is very easy to reload.

Adios,
Buck
