hello,

i hope you will have the same results than me with my  colt 1862 and my remington 1858 , i use .380 in stand of .375 with them .

I have better accuracy for both and the bullets are not hard to load .

that stinks about you missing out.  oh well, it'll be worth it in the end, just keep polishing and keep dreaming.  It'll get there.

Yeeeehhhaaaaaaaaa!!!

Finally got down the range and straight on the firing point!!!

Chambers reamed from 0.373 out to 0.379, new ball mould at 0.380.

24grns of holy black, ball and a smear of secret formula greasy stuff,

1st pistol, 5 shots, slow fire, two handed at 20 yards,,,,,,,2.5" group

2nd pistol---ditto---------ditto----------ditto-------ditto----,,,,,,,,3.25" group

This was immensely satisfying from a pair of pistols that would barely print a 12" group before being reamed.

So my advice, for what it is worth, if you have chambers that are smaller than the barrel groove diameter is, ,,,,,wait for it!!!

Get them reamed, the cost is well worth the small expense of engineering and new mould.

Your (highly delighted) pard, UKshooter.

Ukshooter, do you know this fella, Jeff Tanner?  http://www.jt-bullet-moulds.co.uk/

I used to but ML patches from him. He has THE best I've used. The weave is tighter 'n knickers on a nun!!  ;)  He also makes RB moulds. Sadly, I sold my ML but still have many patches. He was a great source for BP info for the UK as well.

Angel_Eyes

FCK, I know of him and have been on his website, but have never used his products.
Being of Scottish descent, when I wanted patches for my single shot M/L pistols, I just naturally cut up my wifes Irish Linen tablecloth. ;D
Now dont get me wrong, but I am still a long way off the break even line for brownie points, but the patches were spot on!!

Sir Charles, you are so right, and it was only a little table cloth too!!! :-\
