I have been perusing the past topics in the last few days and ran across a topic about the EMF fully engraved  1875.
Someone replied to the topic that the EMF Remington was laser engraved, hence it was less expensive than others.
I have owned one for many years  pretty close to twenty years as a matter of fact and I didnt know that laser engraving was that prevelent in the mid to late 80s.
When I bought the revolvler it came in an Uberti box with Uberti paperwork and I was told it was Uberti factory engraved which I took to mean by hand. I guess someones hand held the laser engraver.
Can some one enlightem me on this.
It seems to me that the last one I saw offered on an auction sight was offered at a pretty high price. I was impressed with the price because it was reasonable when I bought it.
Any one know what it would sell for today?
Just curious because I have tried to find a mate to it without sucess. I have found a couple of nickle engraved 1875 but none in the blue and white.
Thanks

It sounds like you have an engraved (by hand) pistol.
Uberti has offered a hand engraving service for many years.
How about postin' a couple of pictures so we can drool?

Thanks

I'll try to take some picture up close tomorrow.
When I ordered the gun , I placed an order for a Colt(Uberti) Peacemaker but a couple of weeks went by and no word from EMF so I called them.
The lady I talked to said that the pistol I had ordered  was on back order. then she told me that she had the Remington in stock that was fully engarved. She said that it cost a little more but they would ship it to be at the same price as the Colt if I wanted it and they would eat the difference because of the mix up.If I didnt like it I could ship it back and they would send the other pistol.
I already owned    a 1858 Navy Arms so I said okay and when it came in I liked it and the rest is history.

Here are a couple of picts  but they re not too good but maybe you can see the engraving.
I have to get a new usb cord for my other camera to take close pictures

Like someone said, Uberti offers both hand-engraving and laser-engraving.  I don't know how long ago Uberti started doing laser engraving but if you have a gun from the '80's I'd guess it was hand engraved.

I've been told that they follow the laser engraving by hand to make it stand out more.  The Uberti laser-engraved rifles and pistols I've seen all looked pretty darn nice, with the exception of silver plated pistols.  Don't like the looks of the stippling (tiny dots) on those.

Here is the catalog page most likely for your Remington. Hard to say if it was straight photo engraved or chased, but sounds like you got a pretty good deal. About that time I was waiting on an engraved Dakota, and after 6 months I got a regular blue Dakota (which I still have...) They are always at the mercy of the shipping as to getting the stock.

I would love to see some more pix of your gun..

Hope you like the cataloge page..

You know Curley, I remember that catalog and those ads from back when I was dealing with EMF a bunch.

I actually have an early Jager EMF Colt SAA clone (Sheriffs model) that was engraved as a shot show sample.
After seeing the pics I would concur that that is a photo engraved (maybe chased) 1875.
Nice, wish it hung on my safe room wall ;D

Thanks for the Catalog page.  It does say Factory engraved. Rare and collector. Ought to be worth a mint now haha.
I have really enjoyed shooting this pistol and it shows some wear as it has not been babied at all .
When I get my other camera working right I'll try and post some better pictures.
Thanks again
