Hello SSS,

Just got off the phone with the lady at S&S Firearms and she said that the Spencer Breech Blocks are expected into their warehouse in about three weeks ::) ::)

Also spoke to a representative from Buffalo Arms and according to him, they have "no idea when the Spencer breech blocks will be back in stock".  Doesn't sound very encouraging.  :'( :'(

I ran into an interesting problem fitting my S&S block.  There is some variation on the size of the frame window so you sometimes have to polish the block (on the back) to make it fit.  After doing this I installed the block in the lower carrier and the gun would not close, something was binding.  I pulled it out and measured the block and I could not find anything wrong with it, it was the same size as the original and would slide in and out when the gun was disassembled and went up and down in the lower block when it was out of the gun .  After a lot of puzzling It dawned on me to measure the stem on the  block and it turned out that it was a few thousandths off center (to one side), not enough to make it obvious but enough so that it was binding the gun up once it was assembled.  A little polishing on one side of the pin and it works fine.
