Does anyone know who makes the steel frame Colt 1861 Navy for Cabelas? They would do tell me?  and I would like to know before I order one

I'm pretty sure that Cabela's BP guns are made by Pietta.. at least that's what I've been told by "reliable industry sources."

Some are Uberti's, I believe that when they are, Cabela's marks them as so. Otherwise, Pietta..........Buck

Yup, Pietta, and another oddity about it, it has an 8" barrel, instead of the correct 7 1/2".

I went to Cabelas' the other day and there in the bargain cave was 3 ,31cal rem pocket pistols with steel frames,2 of them were $160.00 and the 3rd was $145.00 so I bought one and brought
it on home.
It says it is made by  Fili Pietta .
I have 3 rem 58s made by Uberti with R+D conversion clyinders,so I was wondering if any of you pards have information as if or when R+D is going to make a clylinder for this pocket pistol.

Dusty Ed, I believe Dick Dastardly posted a month or so back that they were trying to do one, but there was quite a bit of difference from one unit to another that it was difficult to get something that will work..........Buck
