Y'all be good while I'm away!  I will be leaving for New Orleans in the morning to portray the Surgeon of the 95th Regiment of Foot [Rifles] [British] on the Chalmette battlefield just southwest of New Orleans.  Staying in a plantation house that was built on the battlefield in the 1830's.  I'll report when I get back to winter next week.

Wasn't it "1814 We Took a Little Trip"...

Santee,

Yep, but the final battle was on Jan. 8, 1815.  First battle was on Dec. 28 IIRC.  Mr. Google will give you the correct first date.  Gotta run! ;D :o ::) ;D

Have fun, Pard.  But I hear there's a bunch of pirates operating down there, who may hook up with Gen'l Andy "By the Eternal!" Jackson!  ;)
Ride to the sound of the guns, but watch out for bushwhackers! Godspeed to all in harm's way in the defense of Freedom! God Bless America!

Have a good vacation, Doc. I hear it is summer time down there. Ya may wanna take a beach ball and a big towel for laying out in the sunshine!!!
Be careful what ya order from the menu down there. I ordered somethin' once that looked like a whole bunch of crawdads on a platter when I got it at the table. The whole mess of them were all piled up in a heap and they were lookin' at me. Big red ones.  :-\

MMMMM good! We used to go down to the creek (crick if you are hearing me) and catch them with a piece of liver on a hook. FUnnest thing ever (almost). Took a knack to pull them in without them letting go of the liver. Tasted delicous too.
Have a good time there Doc, and I hope you find some watches while your out and about! DM
