i would prefer if they went back to using original style guide spring it lightens frame slightly and can be yoused in originals i dont mind the extra cost of a litle more machining and they would still have program for it

acuracy is the bigest problem at the range two people said they would defently buy a rifle if  it shot beter they didnt lick the idear of replacing barell on a new gun

geo

i would like to see a single shot pistol in 56-50 in rolling block action as a "fantasy" sidearm for the spencer. perhaps uberti could re-introduce their .45 lc single shot rolling block bored out to 56-50 in black powder. i think they still make this in .22lr; perhaps still make the .357. dreaming is cheap, dream in color. thanks, geo

my suggestions are as fallows  1) make a byonet for the rifle.
                                           2) make a ram rod like the early spencers rifle had and have the company offer some were you could send the foe arm to have the mod done(for a fee)
                                            3) have the rear sight im proved to correct type.
                                            4) have some plates that you could replace the sling swivil on the rifle.they could just screww on inplace of the swivil rod and ring.
i have had both for nearly three years and they shooy fine. love them both.

I tried this before but messed up -

Fixes for my .45 Schofield Spencer to suggest to Armi

1. - 10. - Trigger pull, trigger pull, etc. etc.
11 - 15 - smoother feeding of rounds - even after Ron Howard had my Spencer for six weeks to fix a feeding problem, the gun still jams about once per stage. This doesn't seem like a tough fix - I have a shooting friend with a .45 LC Spencer and his works fine - he got his through Taylors, I got mine though Cimmaron, and Ron worked on it.
Did I mention trigger pull?

Respectfully - PCR

I'd like to see all their guns come off the line needing no work,......I have had to go through all my Italian guns and do 75% of the internal finishing work to make them smooth, you pay this much and they should work right. I would also like to see them pay closer attention to reproducing accurate rifling in and sights on their firearms.
Regards,
Sgt Chapman

Hello SSS,

Armi Sport representatives are at the Shot Show this week in Florida.  I received the Email appearing below from a representative of Armi Sport in response to my Email that follows below theirs.  I subsequently sent another Email to the same representative with a listing of 21 suggested improvements for the Spencer 56-50, although I cautioned the representative that I had not edited the contents, but would do so at a later date.  I sent the Email because the representative seemed suprised that their Spencer had "problems" and would not shoot accurately out of the box.

So as to not offend anyone, ***** appear where real names should be.

Dear Two Flints,

I'm in US right now getting ready for the Shot Show, are you planning to visit the Show ? It would be great to meet you there and discuss your message.

We would be more than pleased to receive a list of suggested improvements and we will take seriously into consideration all of them.

We don't know if the conversion block that was available on the market are close to our parts, but if we have a minimum quantity requested, we can do that on specific design.

We are working hard with ****** to set up an inventory of parts for all our products in US on which we'll have a direct control to avoid any unavailability of parts in the future.

***** has been very busy in the last three months, and even it doesn't justify his lack of comunication with you, we'll take care of this soon. We are hiring new people at the US facility to manage correctly all the requests that we have. But if you cannot stay in touch with ******, call or email me, and I'll take care of any issues you have.

We are not aware of any specific mechanical problems on our Spencer "out of the box" we suppose they work fine since nobody contacted us to complain for any problem.

Please stay in touch.

Best regards.

Hi ********,
Since I last contacted you I have been collecting information from Spencer Shooting Society (SSS) members on their suggested improvements for the Armi Sport Spencer 56-50. Right now, it is a work in progress, but I hope to send you an Email or letter outlining what SSS members would like to see added as upgrades to the current Armi Sport Spencer 56-50.

There seems to be a resurgence in interest in the Spencer 56-50. SSS membership continues to grow, and we have a great many non-members (of SSS) who visit our forum just looking for advice and information about the Spencer firearm.

There are problem areas:

(1) Availability of Armi Sport Spencer 56-50 parts continues to be a major problem; and if parts are not ready available, the wait time in ordering needed parts is much too long.

(2) A growing number of individuals, who own original Spencers, have contacted me because the center fire conversion block, which once installed in their original Spencers allows them to shoot modern 56-50 cartridges, is no longer available from the current supplier. Perhaps, Armi Sport could get into the manufacture of these center fire conversion blocks?

(3) Communication problems continue to exist between potential Spencer buyers and current Spencer owners and Armi Sport agents in the USA.
At your suggestion earlier suggestion, I called  ********  several times, even left a personal message with his ?son stating who I was and why I had called; sent him several Emails, but he has never tried to contact me, other than a first time call to my home, while I was away in another state for an extended period of time. I did return that call.

One of my members Emailed me saying that if the... "Spencer 56-50 would shoot correctly 'out of the box' without having to have so many modifications to get it to shoot accurately, it would be a great seller for everyone involved, especially for Armi Sport".

If you still want me to send you the list of Spencer 56-50 suggested improvements, I would be very happy to do so. Please let me know. I just don't want to take the time to put the list together if Armi Sport will not treat the list seriously, as we do here at the Spencer Shooting Society.

My best to you in the New Year.
