That's a nice one. I like the wider stamps over the narrow ones. I also like the straight cross "straps" over the rope or other ones. Nice work on the cover, too. That really looks nice. Thanks for the pic.

That really looks sharp, Slim. Two questions, if I could. What weight leather did you use? Is that a pattern of your making, or did you find it somehwere. I really like how the butt end of it looks, very interesting.

Slim, I was very impressed by your basket work and by the relief you gave to your stampind.
Just a question, have you overlapped the stamping until the middle of the tool to have this short plain pert or is this your tool shape.

Slim - nice work.

It looks as though you got darker dye to lie in the crevices of the pattern. Did you buff the leather to get that effect?

Mike:  My favorite dyes are the antique dyes from Tandy 'cause they give that effect.  I barely overlap the stamp when stamping, as the next line covers up the mating edge. This is only the 4th thing I have ever done basket weave on, so any thing that worked is mostly dumb luck! But I don't let not knowing what I am doing slow me down, you can only learn by doing. If I had had that attitude earlier in life I would be much smarter now.
