uberti, ruger

is the ruger new vaq a better made gun than the uberti? I like the historical accuracy of the uberti bit i have also heard that the ruger will last forever.

also the ubeti i am looking at has a brass triggerguard and grip frame. will this affect the overall sturdiness?

     Ive got Uberti,Pietta,moved on lotsa other manufactures guns,but the last two guns I will get rid of are my pair of Rugers. I often shoot my others at a match,but the Rugers ALWAYS GO  along for the ride   !!!   Adios  Sgt.Jake

Well now, I just became the very proud owner of two brand new Uberti 1875 Remingtons in 45 LC, they were defective out of the box, however they seem to be fixed now and I plan on shooting them as main match pistols this coming Saturday and I can't wait. They certainly will be worth many style points I am sure.  I own two Pietta 1851 Navies in 44 cal and I love to shoot them on occasion.  I have been shooting two old model Ruger Vaquero's in 45LC as main match pistols for five years, right out of the box, oh, I did change grips, several thousand rounds, never a single hint of a problem.  They will always go to every shoot from here on out regardless of what else I take with me.  That's my experience.

Nothing is stroger and more reliable than a Ruger, period.  However, a tuned Colt style gun will run thousands of rounds with no problems.  The brass trigger guard and backstrap are just as sturdy as steel for shooting.  Of course, if you intend to hammer nails, steel is better.
