Merry Christmas Pards,
I need some advice. On Tandy's big sale that starts tomorrow, #9830-70 odd lot sides 3-4oz, can anyone tell me how those were tanned? What would you use that type of leather for? Wouldn't be strong enough to make  Buskedaro holster belt's even if you glued thicker leather where the holster goes threw? or what a folding it and making money belts?
I don't get to go to the Tandy store very much, because it is 120 miles, if any of you think there is a real bargin let me known!
Thanks ACE

Ace those are all chrome tanned garment and such hides designed for making clothes, chaps, etc. and not gun leather - and that's not all that great a price anyway.

Until 12/31/08 Tandy/LF has their #9157-93 veg-tanned sides in 3/4 oz for $49.99 regularly $109.99 - they average 22 sq ft so that works out to around $2.27 a sq ft on sale - a great price!
I generally buy only Wickett & Craig but had to order some other stuff and my Tandy guy talked me into buying one so I got one of them their last sale and it has worked real nicely (for some reason I;ve had pretty good luck with imported hide in this weight) - I've used it for a money belt, lining a holster, a bp shooting bag, and most of all for cartridge loops. If you can make it to the store I'd sure get one or two.......would also make good wallets, etc.
